There are many other website with this kind of service. So if you would like to send an email to yourself or your friend, such that it is delivered at a future date, like on 1st January 2020 or any other future time, there are several unique email services which make it possible.

Here is a list of future emailing services:

FutureMe. I had blogged about this service before. No registration needed, just required the email address, subject, message and the date to be sent in the future. The drop menu shows the last year as 2036. You can also keep the email private or as a anonymous public one.

FutureMail. You can send reminders, notes, or any information you want to have in the future. You can even share your future items in a public RSS feed or your own FutureMail Blog. Registration required.

Mail to the Future. It Allows you to send mail to yourself or others at a specified date and time in the future. Requires registration and "your browser must send us a cookie that contains an encoded password.

MyLastEmail. This one if you know that you're going to die soon =D, it allows you to store personal information and deliver them to any addres you specify once you have passed away. You can store text, images and audio messages for free. Registration needed, and there is a limit of file can be stored. They charge a fee if you want to store more.

Consider about these before you send an email in future.

Will these services exist till the period you want the email to be sent?

Do they guarantee that your email will be delivered?

Are you really sure that your email address remain the same in the future?

What if they use or sell your email for spamming purposes?

Another Old Photo

Just feel like wanna post a picture, another interesting old photograph.

Never again a President mingles with streetwise mechanics

Soekarno, the first president of Indonesia (on the right, in all white). He didn't give information where the location on the photograph is nor when the photograph was taken.

There's always this kind of emotional feelings when I looking at old photographs, you know, a weird impression, and I'm thinking like, it is not just a photograph, it's a screenshot of a scene that really happened in the past, a history. Even they said thousand words cannot replace a picture.

OK, so I was looking a little bit closer at the photo. At the first glance, I noticed the "muara" sign on the left top corner. My wild guess is it might be somewhere in North Jakarta(because muara means estuary), maybe around 1960's by looking at the vehicles. There are also some people with their bycyles on that photo. Yeah, that made me sure that it is North Jakarta, where many of those bicycles still exist nowadays.

Below is another picture of the city in present time.

Jakarta today's always busy and crowded, like many other big cities in developing countries in Asia.

Indexing Service

A friend asked me what it is, after he saw a popup notification box regarding indexing service bla bla,,, on his monitor. Ten minutes searching from google and got some info, this is all I can say about indexing service.

Indexing service is a sevice in win xp/2k which create and update indexes of contents and properties of all files on local and network drives, so you can search for them quickly. Some people says indexing service consumes huge amounts of RAM and often can make a computer endlessly loud and noisy.

By default, this service turned on and always run on NTFS partition and can slow down performance of your pc because it has to index files continuously.

If you're rarely searching file in your drives, indexing service is completely unnessesary. Turning off this service will increase overall pc performance and slow down searching process.

There are several ways to turn off this service:

Go to the Control Panel -> click Add/Remove Programs -> click the Add/Remove Window Components -> simply unclick the Indexing services and click next.

Open My Computer -> right-click on a Drive icon -> Select Properties -> Remove the checkmark from "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching" -> Click Apply. Make sure to select "Apply changes to :\, subfolders and files." before clicking OK in the new window.

You can navigate to: Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Disable Indexing Services.

By the way, I've disable it in my computer, but I didn't notice a big difference. =D

Chainletters

For normal people, receiving chainletter might be the most stupid and anoying things ever. In general, there are 4 types of Chainletter.

Chainletter type 1

Hello, and thank you for reading this letter. You see, there is a starving little boy in Bubblaliviatatosen who has no arms, no legs, no parents, and no goats. This little boy's life could be saved, because for every time you pass this on, a dollar will be donated to the Little Starving Legless Armless Goatless Boy from Bubblaliviatatosen Fund. Remember, we have no way of counting letters sent and this is all bull. So go on, reach out.

Send this to 5 people in the next 47 seconds. Oh, and a reminder-if you accidentally send this to 4 or 6 people, you will die instantly.

Thanks again!!

Chainletter type 2

As if you care, here is a poem that I wrote. Send it to every one of your friends.

Friends

-A friend is an angel, someone who is always at your side,
-A friend is someone who likes you even though you smell like poop,
-A friend is someone who likes you even though you're disgustingly ugly,
-A friend is someone who cleans up for you after you've soiled yourself,
-A friend is someone who stays with you all night while you cry about your loser life,
-A friend is someone who pretends they like you when they really think you should be raped by a mad goat and then thrown to vicious dogs,
-A friend is someone who scrubs your toilet and vacuums and then gets the check and leaves and doesn't speak much English, no sorry that's the cleaning lady,
-A friend is not someone who sends you chain letters because he wants his wish of his crush doing the nasty with him to come true.

Chain Lettertype 3

Hi there!! This chain letter has been in existence since 1897. This is absolutely incredible because there was no email then and probably not as many little 8 year olds writing chain letters. So this is how it works. Pass this on to 1,5067 people in the next 7 minutes or something horrible will happen to you like:

Queer Horror Story #1
Miranda Pinsley was walking home from school on Saturday. She had recently received this letter and ignored it. She then tripped in a crack in the sidewalk, fell into the sewer, was gushed down a drainpipe in a flood of poopie, and went flying out over a waterfall. Not only did she smell nasty, she died.

This Could Happen To YOU!!!

Queer Horror Story #2
Dexter Bip, a 13 year old boy, got a chain letter in his mail and ignored it. Later that day, he was hit by a car and so was his boyfriend (hey, some people swing that way). They both died and went to hell. They continued to suffer in hell where they were both cursed to eat adorable kittens every day for eternity.

This Could Happen To You!!!

Remember, you could end up like Pinsley and Bip did. Just send this letter to all of your loser friends, and everything will be OK.

Chainletter Type 4

(scroll down)
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Make a wish!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Really, go on and make one!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Oh please, they'll NEVER go out with you!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Wish something else!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Not that, you pervert!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Are your fingers getting tired yet?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
STOP!!!!

Wasn't that fun? Hope you made a great wish. Now, to make you feel guilty, here's what I'll do. First of all, if you don't send this to 5096 people in the next 5 seconds, you will be raped by a mad goat and then thrown off a high building into a pile of manure. It's true! Because, you know, THIS letter isn't like all of those fake ones, THIS one is TRUE!! Overall, this album is much more melodic and focussing less on screaming. They totally leaved the heavy style in their first release. I bet most of old fans won't like this and started to find something else to listen. But with this change, Underoath definitely draw a lot of new fans who love this genre.

Anyway, they still stand above the other bands similar to them and I'm on my opinion that the singer has a good singing voice. And if he's going to have clean vocals, just stop fucking screaming or just screaming all over the song and leave the clean vocals at all. That's all I have to say about this.

Below is a clip of Underoath performing Reinventing Your Exit, the most radio friendly track in They're Only Chasing Safety.

click here if you can't view the video

Father William

This is a "think thank" classic question I did just minutes ago.

Father William Rides Again
by K.H. "Wicks" Wikremasinghe

A young boy asked Old Father William how he has the strength to cycle twice a day on a triangular course.
To this, Old Father William said, "In the morning, I ride the 15-mile flat section of the course at 20 mph. Then I ride the uphill section of the course at 15 mph. I coast downhill in 25 minutes to finish the course. It takes me a total time of 102 minutes to do this. In the evening, I ride in the opposite direction. Uphill first, then downhill, and then the 15-mile flat section. It takes me three minutes longer in the evening. They developed the hypothesis that a search engine based on analysis of the relationships between Web sites would produce improved results over the basic techniques then in use (At the time, other search engines ranked results essentially based on how many times the search term appeared on a page) It was originally nicknamed BackRub because the system checked backlinks to estimate a site's importance.

The domain google.com was registered on September 15, 1997. They formally incorporated their company, Google Inc., on September 7, 1998 at a friend's garage in Menlo Park, California.

In March 1999, the company moved into offices at 165 University Avenue in Palo Alto, home to a number of other noted Silicon Valley technology startups. Google received a big break in 1999 when one of the most popular search engines, AltaVista, relaunched itself as a user Web entry point, or portal. This unexpected change alienated part of AltaVista's user base. Google quickly outgrew its University Avenue home. After outgrowing two subsequent sites, the company settled into a complex of buildings (referred to by some as "The Googleplex") in Mountain View at 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, in 2003.

The Google search engine attracted a loyal following among the growing number of Internet users. They were attracted to its simple, uncluttered, clean design — a competitive advantage to attract users who did not wish to enter searches on web pages filled with visual distractions. This appearance, while imitating the early AltaVista, had behind it Google's unique search capabilities. In 2000, Google began selling advertisements associated with the search keyword to produce enhanced search results for the user. This strategy was important for increasing advertising revenue, which is based upon the number of "hits" users make upon ads. The ads were text-based in order to maintain an uncluttered page design and to maximize page loading speed. It also only cost a very small amount per click to the websites that advertised this way. The model of selling keyword advertising was originally pioneered by Goto.com (renamed Overture, and now Yahoo! Search Marketing). While many of its dot-com rivals failed in the new Internet marketplace, Google quietly rose in stature while generating revenue.

U.S. Patent 6,285,999 describing Google's ranking mechanism (PageRank) was granted on September 4, 2001. The patent was officially assigned to Stanford University and lists Lawrence Page as the inventor.

In February 2003, Google acquired Pyra Labs, owner of Blogger, a pioneering and leading weblog hosting Web site. Some analysts considered the acquisition inconsistent with Google's business model. However, the acquisition secured the company's competitive ability to use information gleaned from blog postings to improve the speed and relevance of articles contained in a companion product to the search engine, Google News.

At its peak in early 2004, Google handled upwards of 84.7 percent of all search requests on the World Wide Web through its Web site and through its partnerships with other Internet clients like Yahoo!, AOL, and CNN. In February 2004 Yahoo! dropped its partnership with Google in order to provide users at its site independent search results and to maintain their loyalty. Google lost user share of the search market. Yet Yahoo!'s move highlighted Google's own distinctiveness and today the verb "to google" has entered a number of languages first as a slang verb and now as a standard word meaning, "to perform a web search".

Google's Halloween 2005 LogoThe Google site includes humorous features such as cartoon modifications of the Google logo to recognize special occasions and anniversaries, known as "Google Doodles". Not only may decorative drawings be attached to the logo, but as well the font design may mimic a fictional or humorous language such as the Star Trek Klingon and Leet. The logo is notorious among web users for April Fool's Day tie-ins and jokes about the company.

Analysts speculate that Google's response to Yahoo! will be to continue to make technical and visual enhancements to personalized searches, using the personal data that is gathering from Orkut, Gmail, and Froogle to produce unique results based on the user. Frequently, new Google enhancements or products appear in its inventory. Products and demos Google Labs, the experimental section of Google.com help Google maximize its relationships with its users by including them in the beta development, design and testing stages of new products and enhancements of already existing ones.

source from Wikipedia

Future Me

I'm not talking about myself. Beside the shortcut, it is also possible to shutdown or restart your computer using countdown timer. Both tricks are only work on window xp/2000.

First, open the command prompt, by clicking start >> run >> and type cmd to run the program. In command prompt do the following:

To restart, type: shutdown -r -t 900 then press enter

To shutdown, type: shutdown -s -t 900 then press enter

(-r = restart, -s = shutdown, -t 900 = set countdown timer 900 sec.)

To view the list of available shutdown commands we can type: shutdown /?

If you want to cancel the shutdown timer you can use this command: shutdown -a

There is also another different way to restart or shutdown your computer using timer. Other than using command prompt, we create a batch file (using text editor, for example notepad) by typing the same command like in command prompt. Save as the file, and make sure the file extension is .bat. Executing this file will running the command you've written and shutdown / restart your computer after the countdown timer is end.

Face Illusion

If we take a look at the picture below, we must be simply assume that the guy's on the left pose an angry face and the woman on the right with her calm and cool expression.

Now stand up and move away from your chair, make some distance approximately 2 or 3 meter from the monitor.

What do you see now? I mean, they are the market for cheap second hand bikes.

A strong lock and big chain is very essential to secure your bike. It isn't advisable to leave your bike outside at night or even at noon. It's always a good thing to keep an eye on the bike as often as possible.

And in any case my advice is: ride it or lock it.

Mental Capacity

So, here are some questions of a mental capacity test, very very super simple, even your 5 years little brother in playgroup can answer it correctly (unless he's retarded).

How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?
answer

How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?
answer

The Lion King is hosting an animal conference.
All the animals attend except one.
Which animal does not attend?
answer

There is a river you must cross.
But it is inhabited by crocodiles.
How do you manage it?
answer

so what's your points out of 4?
=D

A Deathgrip on Yesterday

American metalcore band from Orange County, Atreyu, is currently begin to work on their new record, the follow up for "The Curse", and will be called "A Death Grip on Yesterday". It's pretty annoying sometimes.

But there is a quick way to do the whole process, by creating shortcuts on the desktop. These shortcuts will shut down or restart Windows at the click of a button.

1. Restart Shortcut

>> Start by creating a new shortcut( right click on the desktop and select New Shortcut). Then in the command line box, type:

C:windowsrundll.exe user.exe,exitwindowsexec

2. Shutdown Shortcut

>> To create a Shortcut to Shutting Windows, do the same thing as creating restart shortcut, but type the following in the command line box:

C:windowsrundll.exe user.exe,exitwindows

Click it and the shortcut will execute the command without any warning.

Letters Order

I was read someone post in a forum:

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. And I wasted my 15 minutes to do the "Weblog Author Personality Quiz".

Here's my result:
Congratulations!
